Gosford Leagues Club Field Becomes ‘Play Space’

A $10 million “landmark” regional play space will occupy Gosford’s Leagues Club Field into a landmark regional play space.

Hunter and Central Coast Development Corporation (HCCDC) announced the successful construction contractor, Landscape Solutions, was chosen by open tender.

The space will feature nature-inspired play areas, a waterway that fills and drains with the tide, and design elements drawn from the history of local Indigenous groups.

Today’s announcement is an exciting step towards delivering significant change in the Gosford landscape,” said HCCDC Acting Chief Executive Valentina Misevska.

“e have worked to understand community desires for the space, and over the project we have partnered with Central Coast Council, the Darkinjung Local Aboriginal Land Council and our landscape architect Turf Design and Environmental Partnerships to create a great design that will attract families back into the Gosford CBD.

“warding the construction contract to Landscape Solutions is one of the final steps of planning, and works will soon begin to build a unique, inclusive space for everyone to relax, play and have the opportunity to learn about the Aboriginal history of the region.”

Construction is should start on Leagues Club Field in December 2019 and continue throughout 2020.

The entire park will be closed during this time, with minor disruption expected for nearby residents, businesses and traffic.
