A side road bypassing Williams Bridge has been upgraded to concrete in preparation for the bridge’s demolition and replacement.
Construction by council contractor Waeger Constructions Pty Ltd has begun and is scheduled to last until December 2020.
Muswellbrook Shire Council said it is aware of the potential disruption of these works on nearby residences.Council has also warned that during the period of construction, access across the creek will be through the side track only. Residents and businesses should make plans and alternate arrangements should the side track be washed out by heavy water flows.
Although Council is working with the Emergency Services to prepare a contingency plan for such an eventuality, residents are advised to be prepared.
