Member for Maitland, Robyn Parker, announced three local schools will receive new facilities as part of the NSW Government’s 2012-13 Budget.
Works in the 2012-13 financial year include;
- New Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) at Ashtonfield Public School;
- New fitness workshop including sports staffroom and teaching space at Francis Greenway High School;
- Two new covered walkways at Rutherford Public School.
These upgrades will improve the learning facilities at these three Maitland schools”, Ms Parker said.
They are in addition to the minor works upgrades I have recently announced for Woodberry Public School, Maitland Public School, Francis Greenway High School, Maitland High School and Maitland Grossman High School which have an estimated total cost of up to $500,000 each."
The Joint Funding Program provides funds to schools on a dollar-for-dollar basis, with the school providing at least 50 per cent of the total estimated cost of a nominated project and the Department providing the remainder, up to $300,000.
