Maitland City Council has a competition to support local food outlets.
Developed as part of Council’s COVID-19 Response and Recovery initiatives, A Taste of Maitland starts today (Monday 4 May).
The digital promotion has been developed to put a spotlight on, and encourage residents to support, local food and beverage outlets as one of the hardest hit industries from the pandemic.
The promotion encourages Maitland residents to enter a competition to win a $100 food credit at a participating restaurant.
The promotion will run for up to 10 weeks, highlighting three different offerings each week, providing direct and immediate support to restaurants.
The Taste of Maitland promotion is a great way to support a local industry that has had to adapt quickly and is a great opportunity to showcase the culinary diversity available in Maitland directly to residents,” said Caroline Booth, council’s Acting Coordinator City and Visitor Economy
There are so many incredible food options available in Maitland, but we often only eat at our local or favourite restaurants.
This promotion will highlight options people may not know about or cuisines they may not usually try.
It gives residents the chance to try something different in the comfort of their own home.”
To enter the free competition, residents need to visit www.mymaitland.com.au and complete the entry form.
The weekly winners will be announced at 6.00pm each Friday via the My Maitland Facebook and Instagram pages.
The competition will run until 4.00pm on Friday 17 July.
Restaurants located in the Maitland Local Government Area can still sign up to be involved with the promotion. To participate, they must be providing takeaway or home delivery dinner options and be listed on the My Maitland website.
