Lower Hunter Community Connect Day is an initiative of the youth and community services agencies within the Lower Hunter Region.

The event aims to connect people within the Lower Hunter to services and supports in a friendly setting.

The event will provide a one-stop-shop for people from the area to connect with services and supports to better meet their needs.

On the day we will connect people to vital services such as accommodation and housing providers, health and wellbeing agencies, legal and financial assistance, employment study and youth programs as well as general supports for people who are doing it tough or who might be at risk of homelessness. There will be plenty of food and entertainment provided on the day as well as birth certificates, toiletries and clothing and basic beauty services.

The event is being hosted this year by Maitland Basketball Association who have generously offered us their space.

Maitland Basketball is very much a part of the Community and it is our pleasure to assist our community come together to make genuine connections with local supports and services” ~ Stacy Jacobs, President Maitland Basketball Association

Although similar events happen in larger centres like Newcastle, this initiative will ensure the event and supports are accessible to people who reside in the Cessnock, Maitland and lower Hunter districts.
