Progress at Gingers Lane

Gingers Lane Stage One and Two complete.

Gingers Lane has reached stage three is underway between Woodlands Drive and Stringybark Place.

The project covers road pavement, road widening, kerb and gutter installation, drainage upgrades, road safety barriers, turning lanes and service relocations.

A road closure is in place on Gingers Lane for Stage Three road works between Woodlands Drive and Stringybark Place. Detours are in place via Frame Drive and Sawyers Gully Road as the staged construction progresses.

During the course of the upgrade, there have been some unavoidable delays and the expected completion date is now March 2021.

Council’s General Manager, Lotta Jackson said she understands the effect this project has had on many local residents.

This project has not been without its challenges and hurdles, including unsuitable ground conditions, catastrophic fire conditions, higher than average rainfall through winter, and resourcing issues due to COVID-19,” said Ms Jackson.

The fourth stage, from Stringybark Place to the roundabout at the intersection with Government Road, Sawyers Gully Road and Hart Road will occur concurrently with the upgrade of the roundabout. Temporary roads bypassing the roundabout in preparation for the Hart Road roundabout upgrade are under construction.

Council will continue to maintain access for Gingers Lane residents to their properties. For more information on the project visit Council’s website.
